At Forecast, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our services.

Customer Privacy

If you contact us to begin a sales discussion, we will collect personal information so that we can communicate with you, including your name, email address, phone number and other contact information. This information will be visible to our employees, and with other service providers that we use to help us in our sales, marketing and customer success processes.

We will have access to your IP address, browser details and other identifying information such as cookies, as your browser will supply that information to us. We may use these to understand your interests better.

We will not on-sell this contact information to any third party.

Market Prediction Privacy

Your anonymity before a market is resolved is our utmost concern. We will not under any circumstances allow information that could connect your user account to your predictions to anyone (including your employer or any other commissioning organisation) before a market has resolved.

Your predictions however will be aggregated with other market participants' predictions and provided to the commissioning organisation upon market closure. Reports will be generated from this information, and aggregated data and charts may be used by Forecast for many purposes, including sales, marketing, testing and development.

When a market is resolved, the accuracy of your predictions will be made available to the commissioning organisation, and it is likely that there will be sufficient information for someone to deduce what your prediction(s) were. Since this is fundamental to the way information works in our universe, we can't do much about this, but we thought you had better know about it. Particularly if you have access to another universe where this isn't the case, as we'd really like to study how things work there.

To allow you to use the service, we will store your email address or username and access credentials (such as passwords) together with whatever information your organisation has shared with us about you. We will share this information with service providers who need this information to run the website. Passwords are stored as password hashes, and if you log in with an OAuth provider we store the provider identity needed to connect that login to your account.

Your rights

In general (where it does not conflict with our principle of anonymity in predictions) we will respect any request to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. We will respect objections to or the restriction of processing of your personal information, as well as requests to withdraw your consent at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights beyond what is outlined here.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately. If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
